Player of the Year 2026 – Overview

The Player of the Year (POTY) 2026 award recognises the most outstanding individual Club FootGolfer across the season, celebrating consistent excellence in both Club Competitions and the National FootGolf Tour.

This award honours players who demonstrate exceptional performance, dedication, and contribution to their clubs and the wider FootGolf community through regular participation and strong results.

1. Points Accumulation System

A. Individual Player Points

Each FootGolfer earns Individual Points throughout the 2026 season.
Points are accumulated from two sources:

• Club Matches – domestic fixtures within the player’s registered club.

• National Tour Events – official competitions on the FGAoE National FootGolf Tour.

The total combined points from both categories determine the Player of the Year standings.

 

B. Tour Event Points

Players also earn Tour Points based on their performance in official FGAoE National Tour events.

Notes:

• Points are awarded individually to each player.

• In the event of tied scores, all tied players receive the same points allocation.

C. Club Tour Bonus Points

Bonus points are also distributed based on the performance of each club’s Top 3 players in Tour events.

How It Works:

1. After each Tour event, results are sorted by club affiliation.

2. The Top 3 finishers from each club earn bonus Club Tour Points.

3. These bonus points are added individually to each player’s overall Player of the Year total.

2. Rankings and Updates

• The official Player of the Year leaderboard will be published and regularly updated on the FGAoE website.

• Updates will reflect each player’s combined Club and Tour points throughout the season.

 

3. Awards and Recognition

At the end of the 2026 season:

• The player with the highest total points will be crowned Player of the Year 2026.

• The Top 3 ranked players will receive official recognition and awards from the FGAoE.

 

4. Objectives of the System

The POTY 2026 structure has been designed to:

• Reward consistent performance across all levels of competition.

• Strengthen the connection between club participation and national success.

• Encourage players to remain active in both local and national events.

• Promote healthy competition and engagement throughout the national FootGolf community.
